At Lowertown Farm we run an established herd of good quality and carefully selected Pedigree and Heritage Approved mares and we aim to produce confident and happy ponies.

All ponies are handled using natural horsemanship methods before sale. Please look at our page 'Dartmoor Ponies and Natural Horsemanship' for more information.

Popped out with the camera and took some photos today of the mares awaiting the arrival of our stallion tomorrow after his operation. He has fully recovered in the stable and from tomorrow he can re-join his mares - I bet he'll be pleased.

We've got a few of his mares currently on the farm preparing to foal any day now - always an exciting time, as well as a few future broodmares which we retained a few years ago. Blackator Alesha is one of my favourites, she's been conservation grazing for the forestry commission for three years and now she's old enough to breed so she's come home again. She's a pedigree Dartmoor pony with very old traditional bloodlines, very important as the breed is quite rare.
